Cabo Verde – 9 inhabited ilhas scattered across Atlantic Ocean like colored buttons on a tailor’s table – one so different from the other.<\/span><\/p>\n Cabo Verde is a diverse mix of colors, flavors, sounds and ideas that is reflected in every aspect of its culture. It is no different for fashion. With specific characteristic unique to each island, it is a place where the past mixes with the future, the local mingles with outside influences. Traveling around the archipelago at almost the same time we can see styles straight from the streets of New York or Amsterdam, as well as traditional costumes, as if time frozen a few decades ago. It is a place where ships with <\/span>bidons <\/span><\/i>filled with clothes sent from the USA or Portugal reach its ports daily, market stalls are flooded with colorful fabrics from continental Africa, in stylish boutiques one can buy clothes from European or American chain stores at inflated prices, and made in China clothing is available at numerous Chinese owned stores. At the same time, somewhere in the tiny workshop a tailor sews dresses and traditional pano di terra is being waved, both disappearing silently. By creating Fashion Revolution Cabo Verde, we aim to promote what is local – ideas, culture and, as far as possible, materials in the spirit of promoting responsible and environmentally friendly fashion.<\/span><\/p>\n Portugues:<\/b><\/p>\n Cabo Verde \u00e9 uma mistura diversificada de cores, sabores, sons e id\u00e9ias que se reflete em todos os aspectos de sua cultura. Na moda n\u00e3o seria diferente. Com caracter\u00edsticas \u00fanicas para cada ilha, Cabo Verde \u00e9 um lugar onde o passado se mistura com o futuro, onde o local (terra-terra) se mistura com o que \u00e9 de fora. Viajando pelo arquip\u00e9lago podemos ver estilos vindos diretamente das ruas de Nova York ou Amsterd\u00e3o, como trajes tipicamente tradicionais, como se o tempo estivesse congelado algumas d\u00e9cadas atr\u00e1s. \u00c9 um lugar onde navios com <\/span>bidons <\/span><\/i>cheios de roupas enviadas dos EUA ou Portugal chegam diariamente aos nossos portos, barracas de mercado s\u00e3o inundadas com tecidos coloridos da \u00c1frica continental; em boutiques elegantes, \u00e9 poss\u00edvel comprar roupas de chain-stores europ\u00e9ias ou americanas a pre\u00e7os inflacionados, e roupas confeccionadas na China est\u00e3o dispon\u00edveis em v\u00e1rias lojas chinesas. Ao mesmo tempo, em algum lugar, numa pequena oficina se costura\u00a0 vestidos e trajes desenhados, ou mesmo o nosso pano da terra pede estar a ser teado, no entanto, ambos desaparecendo silenciosamente.
